艷曲梵經

裴元輔隨唐懿宗出遊狩獵，於鶯花臺邂逅舒玉廉；懿宗在狩獵時不慎墜馬倒地，恰巧玉廉經過並救回家中。玉廉之妹柳艷見懿宗生得俊美，自認己乃救人者，懿宗表明身份，立柳艷為妃，後柳艷誕下公主。王貴妃生性妒忌，一面迫害張貴妃，又下令追殺柳艷母女。柳艷逃返家中，乞姊玉廉代收養女兒小蠻。懿宗因王貴妃所為氣結駕崩，玉廉焚燒舊居與小蠻隱遁。

十八年後，懿宗子李倚在狩獵中巧遇小蠻，一見鍾情。但未婚妻慧姬郡主及姑姑九公主反對，並把小蠻逐出皇城。小蠻把艷曲寫於梵經中留給李倚，後隨玉廉遷至梅花村，以避開宮中眾人。陰錯陽差，反而遇上李倚等人。至此，玉廉訴說真相底蘊，李倚始悉小蠻乃其親妹。小蠻獲封鶯花公主，柳艷追封為睦國夫人。

The Love Song in the Scripture

Pei Yuanfu is accompanying Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty on a hunting trip when he encountersShu Yulian at the Oriole and Flower Terrace. While hunting, the emperor accidentally falls off his horse. Passing by, Yulian rescues him and takes him to her home. Seeing how handsome the emperor is,Yulian’s sister Liuyan claims to be his savior. The emperor reveals to her his identity and makes her his concubine. She later gives birth to a girl called Xiaoman. Imperial Concubine Wang is so jealous that she issues orders to kill Liuyan and her daughter while sabotaging Imperial Concubine Chang. Liuyan flees home and begs her sister to adopt the baby. The emperor dies of rage over what Imperial Concubine Wanghas done. Yulian burns down her house and goes away to live with Xiaoman in seclusion.

Eighteen years later, the emperor’s son, Li Yi, encounters Xiaoman while hunting and falls in love with her at first sight. However, his aunt and his fiancée the Princess Huiji, disapprove of their relationship and drive the girl out of the palace. Xiaoman leaves Yi a love song in a Buddhist scripture. In order to avoid meeting anyone from the palace, Xiaoman moves to Plum Blossom Village with Yulian but runs into Li Yi despite her efforts. Yulian discloses the truth about Xiaoman and Li realizes that the woman he loves is actually his sister. Xiaoman is made Princess Yinghua (Oriole and Flower) and Liuyan is posthumously honored.
